Gifted Ocean Studio is a small team. We do not run on advertising or data brokerage, and we do not enjoy reading privacy policies any more than you do. So this page is short and plain. It covers what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we keep your email address. That's it: an email, the date you signed up, and (when relevant) which form you used.
If you write to us through the contact form, we keep the name, email, and message you submit so we can reply. We may also keep a short note about the project category you selected.
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (your IP address, browser type, and the page you requested) for a short period to help us run and secure the site.
How we use it
We use your email to send the things you signed up for: launch notes, work-in-progress, and the occasional letter from the studio. We don't run promotional campaigns from third parties on our list.
We use contact-form messages to respond to you. If your inquiry is for a partnership or a press request, we may keep it on file as long as the conversation continues.
We don't sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, and we don't use your data to train external models.
Where it lives
Subscriber emails and contact-form submissions live in a Postgres database run by our content platform (Payload). The database is hosted with our cloud provider; the studio team has access through an authenticated admin portal.
Email delivery is handled by a transactional email provider so we can send you the things you've subscribed to. The provider sees your address only for the purpose of delivering messages.
Cookies and similar things
We use a small number of cookies and local storage entries to remember your theme preference (light or dark) and to keep newsletter signup state working between visits. We don't use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
If we ever add product analytics, we will update this page first and use a privacy-respecting tool that does not build cross-site profiles.
Your rights
Every newsletter we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Use it any time and you'll be removed from the list.
If you'd like a copy of the information we have on file for you, or you want it deleted, write to us at hello@giftedocean.com from the address on file. We'll respond within a reasonable window — usually within a week.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, the GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California). Those laws apply to us and we'll honor them.
Children
Our work is made for adults and older teens. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we've received information about a child, please write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top. For larger changes, we'll mention it in the next newsletter so subscribers see it directly.
